Come hear Tonic & Gin compete against other fantastic groups! The Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival is the premier American showcase for vocal harmony music. The annual national competition draws from hundreds of vocal groups from around the country with regional competitions in eight cities. The winning group from each festival is flown to perform in front of celebrity judges and a sold out house of enthusiastic a cappella fans at the National Finals. Do you watch "American Idol"? Did you watch "The Sing-Off"? Now here is your chance to see a cappella compete live, on stage, right here in DC! On Friday, March 5, Tonic & Gin will be singing against other fantastic vocal groups from the area, and as far away as New York and Ohio, in the SingStrong! A Cappella Idol competition at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA. The show starts at 8 pm, tickets are $25 ($15 for students, seniors and employees of Fairfax County Public Schools) and all proceeds go to support Alzheimer's research. Tonic & Gin is thrilled to be opening for the group SONOS, an amazing vocal band coming live to Northern Virginia, all the way from Los Angeles, CA! The concert will be held at Jammin Java in Vienna, VA on Saturday, October 3rd. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7pm. Just a final reminder to come see Tonic & Gin serenade you under the stars tonight (Sunday, August 2), from 7:30-8:30 pm at Mason District Park in Annandale, VA (6621 Columbia Pike). We will be debuting a FOUR BRAND NEW SONGS, and the show is FREE! There are picnic facilities and even a dog park nearby, and it's a great event for the whole family. Tonic & Gin will be joining a cappella forces with VoxPop, a new a cappella group in D.C., to support Children's Hospital. The show will be at Busboys and Poets on June 4th. What a competition this year at Harmony Sweeps 2009. We were lucky to sing with such amazing groups like DoubleShot!, Cameron Station, and Lustre. We were also joined by our friends Skyline. We send our sincere congratulations to the ladies of MaXXFactor, the winners of this year's Harmony Sweeps Mid Atlantic Compeition. Good luck in San Fransisco! There were some amazing groups at the first annual SingStrong a cappella festival. The competition, A Cappella Idol, was a great time for everyone and featured groups like Vocal Line's Male and Female halves, Passing Notes, Unforgettable, Capri, and a couple of friends of T&G - Skyline, Snowday, Euphonism, and Cartoon Johnny.
